This is a good example of what can be achieved with proper planning and layout from a expert tile & marble craftsman. This double niche shampoo shelf was built and waterproofed prior to installing tile. The opening was built so that the shampoo niche would be in place of one full tile on the wall instead of cutting into the wall field tile. This creates smooth clean lines that is more pleasing to your eye. The mosaic glass tile in the back of the shampoo niche was also laid out for full tile. The quartz shelf in the center is pitched and mounted into the wall. Everything is then grouted using epoxy grout for longevity, color consistency, and stain resistance. Our objective is to create beautiful and functional pieces of tile art for your home. Something as simple as a shampoo niche in your shower can become a object of beauty that has been built to outlast you home.

Here are four shower displays we built for My Shower Door in their Sarasota location. They display the different types of glass enclosures that they offer to their customers. My Shower Door installed the frameless glass door for my mothers shower after I remodeled her home. They did an amazing job, the door really makes the bathroom look larger and you can see her beautiful tile work clearly now. The frameless shower doors are the way to go and their company is top notch, I would highly recommend them to any one looking for a glass enclosure. The tile and design was provided by La Casa Tile in Sarasota, they did a beautiful job mix and matching the tiles to create the four unique shower displays. All the tiles are made from either porcelain, marble, and granite. You can see more of our work at www.houzz.com/projects/vanosdoltile

Sarasota tile contractor Van Osdol Marble and Tile. Here is a mosaic shell tile that we installed around a ceiling fan platform. The tile matches the tile on the ceiling fan and the platform was faux painted to pick up the colors. We installed this in Longboat key in Sarasota. Metaluxe tile install on a kitchen backsplash. These tile have a metal coating on them with a brushed swirl finish. The tiles can be cut on a normal tile wet saw with care. In this installation the kitchen wall had a slight deflection in it so to achieve a perfectly flat surface the tiles were installed using the mud set method. The tiles are 6"X24" and are rectified, this means the tiles have been cut down on all four side to make the tiles dimensionally more accurate. With the tiles being rectified we are capable of installing them closer together because of the tiles tighter tolerances. When installing tile closer together without a cushioned edge there is no room for any variation of the substrate, therefore the only way to achieve a lippage free tile installation is to mudset it. With the metal finish on the tiles, the manufacture only recommends using a unsanded grout to eliminate scratching the surface with a sanded grout. Before having a tile contractor install these tile make sure to check their qualifications and references because a mistake could become very costly due to the tiles costing approximately $80.00 each material only.

The seat in the shower is solid concrete and wrapped in marble. The shower floor was installed diagonally and has a ebbe shower drain. A custom built shampoo shelf was built into the knee wall and all of the grout and marble was sealed with aqua mix sealers choice gold..

Tile Sarasota installation. www.vanosdolmarbleandtile.com. 12X24 rectified porcelain tile installed in a running bond book matched corners using mud set method to achieve perfectly plumb and flat surfaces. 1/16 inch grout joint with sterling silver epoxy grout by Laticrete. The shampoo niche is the size of the tile width this eliminates cutting the field tile for a cleaner look. The shower floor is a cut pebble stone with a 3"X24" tile border and is grouted with epoxy also. The listello ban in the shower is framed with a black marble liner. The black marble liner was used to create a bullnose effect to the shampoo niche tiles. All the wall were covered with Den's shield wall board. The seams and screw head were covered with Laticrete hydro-ban.
